The guest designer of honour for Moncler Lunettes is three-time Grammy Award winning musician and
producer Pharrell Williams. The American songwriter, music producer, recording artist and fashion designer
has been an integral part of the entire project; he designed a men’s and women’s range of sunglasses, and is
also the face of the advertising campaign.
Remo Ruffini, Chairman of Moncler, was the driving force behind the ongoing artistic partnership with
Pharrell Williams. “He represents the very best of all that is contemporary, creative and international, the
same characteristics that underpin the entire Moncler project and the Moncler Lunettes collection”.
Moncler Lunettes featuring Pharrell Williams are sunglasses halfway between Futurism and Fifties Style.
They will be officially presented in Paris on 26th September to mark the opening event for the new Moncler
flagship store at 7, Rue du Faubourg Saint Honorè. The event coincides with Silmo, the French fair dedicated
to eyewear, scheduled to take place from 26th to 29th September in the French capital.
The frames, made from a single piece of titanium, have been designed to offer depth and thickness on the
sides, whilst the front achieves an extremely lightweight look. The lenses, in nylon like the arms, guarantee
the utmost flexibility and resistance, whilst the very low specific weight of titanium ensures that the large
volumes remain light.
The rounded silhouettes of the Fifties, typical of vintage Le Corbusier, are given a new take for men and
women featuring a modern-techno look. Even the more squared frame is presented in both men’s and
women’s versions, remaining loyal to the retro look and enlarging the lenses to the extent that the titanium is
transformed into an almost imperceptible line. The unisex model experiments with the concept of the oversize
mask; the acetate arm is covered with a thin lamina of steel.
Moncler Lunettes made its debut appearance last March at Mido, the international eyewear fair in Milan.
Designed for urban use, not to mention the most exclusive high altitude resorts, the models of the Moncler
Lunettes collection are made entirely in Italy.
The Moncler Lunettes collection is already available to members of the public in Moncler boutiques and
the online store, as well as being distributed in an exclusive network of opticians worldwide. The models
designed by Pharrell Williams will be distributed in Moncler boutiques, online on moncler.com and in selected
multibrand concept stores and international opticians from October.
